On how I photograph people
I offer photography that’s thoughtful, relaxed, and shaped around the people I’m working with.
My approach is informed by a long relationship with photography, beginning in the late 1980s and developed through a background in photography and media production. Over the years, this has shaped how I work — paying close attention to light, timing, and the way people interact when they’re allowed to be themselves, rather than directed at every step.
Before picking up a camera, I take time to understand what matters to you and what you’re hoping the photographs will hold. Whether I’m documenting a wedding, a family, or creating images for a brand, the focus is on making work that feels considered and honest, rather than staged or trend‑driven.
I work quietly and without fuss, keeping the experience straightforward and calm. This gives space for things to unfold naturally and for small moments — often the most meaningful ones — to surface on their own.
I use a mix of digital and vintage analogue cameras, choosing the process that best suits the pace and intention of the shoot. Film remains an important part of my work; it slows things down and brings a depth and texture that sits well with the kind of images I want to make — photographs with a sense of permanence that age well over time.
Every project is handled personally, from our first conversation through to the final photographs. You’ll be supported throughout, but never over‑managed. The result is a set of images that reflect you clearly and truthfully, and still feel relevant years down the line.
If you’re looking for photography that’s calm, attentive, and rooted in real moments, I’d love to work with you.
