La Rosa | Whitby

At the end of the summer holidays we had one last adventure to a magical campsite near Whitby in the North Yorkshire Moors, La Rosa. We had been a couple of times before but somehow each time feels like the first. We stayed in little caravans the are all done up with a different theme, ours was 'Pyschedelic Candy' and our friends was 'Shanty Shack', the attention to detail in each van is amazing. Our kitchen was in a big top circus tent with a funky sitting room complete with dressing up clothes should you fancy it. With no electric you see mostly by way of candle light in the evening, your trip to the compost loo is lit up by lanterns along the path through the trees. When it got dark we went into the tipi and the girls made a roaring fire to toast marshmallows on. The hot morning shower is in an old barn, very romantic and beautiful, this time we were joined by some swallows whose nest was just above the shower. There is also the tranquil Buddha Garden with a bath should you fancy a dip in the peaceful surroundings.

During the day we went to Whitby and the girls braved the sea. We had fish and chips and found some beach huts. The huts were in an amazing spot and it looked like a great community of people using them, whole families were there and it had such an old fashioned atmosphere, I would love to go back and photograph the families and their huts.  All in all a great last adventure. Hope you enjoy the photos. If you would like me to join you on an adventuire and document it for you I'd love to hear from you, you can contact me here - a long shot I know :-) Or if you would just like a family shoot thats fine too!
